After much trial and error Samsung finally introduced its open source Tizen OS. It is one of Samsung’s endeavors to lessen its dependence on Google’s Android OS. More specifically, with Tizen OS Samsung is trying to create a new identity for them. The tech giant has launched the OS with Samsung Z series. Initially, the phone will be launched in Russia in the third quarter of this year, and it will make its way to some of the other markets later.
Samsung Z will be powered by Tizen 2.2.1 OS. Its feature includes a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, 2.3 GHz Quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal memory with microSD card support, 8 megapixel rear camera, 2.1 megapixel front camera, LTE, NFC, IR sensor, and 2600mAh battery. Although Samsung Z reflects almost the same looks and design of Samsung’s Android-powered Smartphones, its uniqueness mostly lies in its fast and powerful software performance. The users will be offered with additional applications through Tizen Store.
