Fitra 2016
This year (1437 Hijri) Fitra has been set as maximum Tk. 1650/- and minimum Tk. 65/- per person. Wednesday morning, a meeting was convened at the Islamic Foundation, Baitul Mukarram to determine the amount of Fitra. The meeting was presided over by Maulana Mohammad Abdus Salam, director of the Department of Religious Mission and Culture, Islamic Foundation.

The meeting described that, according to Islamic Sharia, Fitra could be realized by any products such as, flour, dates, raisins, cheese, barley, etc. or by their prevailing market price:

Muslims can realize Fitra as per their ability by any of the above products or by their market price. The meeting also noted that the local retail market price may vary in different areas. In such case, Fitra would be realized if the local price is paid.
