Are you a frequent visitor to Chinese restaurants? Do like fried vegetable rice? If yes, then you don’t need to waste your money over restaurants anymore. By following few simple steps you can prepare this dish at home. It’s deceptively easy and the ingredients are also very common. Let’s see how to prepare restaurant quality vegetable rice:

Ingredients

  • Basmati/Pilau Rice - 1 ½  cups
    Fried Vegetable Rice Recipe
  • Carrot - ½ cup
  • Onion - ½ cup (minced)
  • Onion Flakes - ½ cup
  • Green Peas - ½ cup (optional)
  • Garlic - 1 tsp (minced)
  • Ginger - 1 tsp (minced)
  • Green Chilly- 2 or 4 (diced)
  • Pepper - ½ tsp
  • Capsicum- 100 grams (diced)
  • Soy Sauce - 2 tsp
  • Egg – 1 (scrambled)
  • Vegetable Oil - ½  cup
  • Salt - to taste
  • Testing Salt - to taste (optional)

Step by Step Preparation

  1. Cook the rice nicely and set it aside to cool naturally until the grains are easily separated.
  2. Now heat vegetable oil on pan and add the onion, garlic, ginger, and green chilly.
  3. Add carrot, onion flakes, and green peas and fry for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the scrambled egg and stir well for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Now add the rice and salt and stir well.
  6. Add soy sauce and cook for about 6-7 minutes.
  7. Finally add pepper and capsicum and finish cooking!
