3 Steps to Keep Your Lips Pink Naturally without Using Lipstick

Soft and full lips are something that many women want. But somehow, you end up getting the opposite.

If you're wondering why your lips seem dry, broken and pigmented - there are many things that can cause those problems.

But that does not mean that is the way your lips have to be. A few home remedies are what you need to get softer and pinker lips.

Causes of dry and pigmented lips

Your lips are extremely sensitive, susceptible to everything you do and everything you are exposed to.

Exposing yourself to the sun and pollution, not drinking enough water, consuming too much caffeine, and smoking can lead to dry and pigmented lips.

How to get pink lips naturally

Here are the 3 remedies on how you can get pink lips naturally:

1. Lemon and honey juice

You will need

  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice

What you have to do

  1. Add the lemon juice to the honey and mix very well.
  2. Apply this mixture to your lips and leave it for about 15 minutes.
  3. Clean with a towel and continue with a moisturizing lip balm.

How often do you need to do this?

You can use this mixture everyday.

Why this works

Regular exfoliation removes layers of dead cells, leaving you with softer lips.

It also helps with pigmentation, because the uppermost layers of cells pigment due to sun exposure, pollution and other factors.

Caution: Exfoliating very often can wear down your lips, leaving them raw and exposed. Make sure you don't exfoliate them very often or for a long time.

2. Olive oil and sugar

You will need

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil.
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar.

What you have to do

  1. Place the sugar and olive oil in a jar and mix them by using a spatula.
  2. Grab a little of the mixture, and gently exfoliate your lips in circular motions.
  3. Clean it with a damp towel and moisturize your lips with a lip balm.

How often do you need to do this?

You can use this natural scrub once or twice a week.

Why this works

Sugar helps remove dead cells that make your lips dry and pigmented.
Olive oil moisturizes, leaving your lips softer and smoother.

3. Aloe Vera gel

You will need

  • 1 Aloe Vera leaf

What you have to do

  1. Peel the outer layer of the Aloe Vera leaf to get the gel.
  2. Take out the gel and store it in a container.
  3. Use it like the way you would use a lip balm and store it in the refrigerator.

How often do you need to use this?

Aloe Vera gel can be used several times a day.

Why this works?

Aloe Vera has softening properties, so it helps with peeled and irritated lips.

It also stimulates the growth of new skin cells, and helps with damage caused by the sun.
You will notice that after following these simple and quick daily steps your lips will naturally get pinker and softer within a few days' of usage. And this will be possible without having to use lipstick.
